Vegas, 3am
Acres of hotel rooms all down miles of the same hallways. You never really know if it’s day or night. All in support of some vague, ill-defined "good time". Vegas, for all it’s effort, is bland beyond belief. Nope, I’m not a fan. Next time I have to go I’m taking my own spices.

Rub the Buddha for luck
I’ve wanted a laughing Buddha for quite some time, but I could never find one I liked. This one was a gift and I think he’s perfect. I think the key was having him gifted.

The city on the hill
Today’s been a tough day. I was forced to face up to some very ugly truths. I took solace on a beach with the sunset.
The title refers to the city that appeared on the horizon as the sun set. You’ll probably need to see it larger to get it.

Portraiture on the cheap
There’s much that’s wrong with this picture–focus, grain, etc.–however, I think it’s important for one reason: I got the shot, and it’s pretty much the portrait I wanted. See, I flew to CA for a birthday party and, given the short length of stay (46 hrs.!) and light packing, taking a full DSLR and speedlight just didn’t make sense. Instead, I went with my little Casio Exilm. Sometimes small and simple is better.
While that was a portrait on the cheap, I also took time for a little cheap portraiture:
Oh, the 2nd shot isn’t a Polaroid at all, just a bad PS job. Still I thought it made a nice diptych.

So for the first time in my photographic career I’m in a show. Amazing. The big one in the center is mine as well as two of the other images. I can’t wait to see if they sell.
