The fashion shoot

The photos are in the hands of everyone involved so now I can post them. The shoot was a ton of fun. The models were wonderful; they did their thing (even the ones who’d never done a shoot before) and it felt like I simply had to point my camera in their direction to get [...]

When artists argue

The following is a snippet from a conversation as I remember it:

Yes, I know it’s tilted. I had to stand in the street to get the whole door. I’m thinking of trying it again tomorrow [...]

I’ve got this friend who’s really good at shooting flowers. The explosion of spring (and a new macro lens) has caused me to give it a try. My first efforts:

(Lame flower pictures removed from Flickr by me)

Not surprisingly, I like the picture of the spider the best. Doesn’t matter what I’m shooting, I’m all about [...]

Last night Sputneck and I met up after work for a drink and dinner. Being men of simple minds, we went for what we know: The Rockford in downtown Raleigh. As we were chatting at the bar one of the employees asked if I was a photographer. A bit surprised I said yes and asked [...]

I was reading our independent weekly–cleverly called The Independent–this Saturday when I saw a picture that looked rather familiar. It took me a second, but I finally realized it was a shot I took in October of Nathan Asher & The Infantry. I was so tickled that I had to tell my waitress, “Hey, I [...]
