Photography as ice breaker
Last night Sputneck and I met up after work for a drink and dinner. Being men of simple minds, we went for what we know: The Rockford in downtown Raleigh. As we were chatting at the bar one of the employees asked if I was a photographer. A bit surprised I said yes and asked where she’d seen me. Turns out she was at the Tres Chicas show and saw me there. I can’t remember the last time someone recognized me from behind the camera. What made it even better was I was able to introduce myself to the multi-talented Cheetie Kumar and offer my photographic services for her band, The Birds of Avalon. They’re leaving for a five-week tour of the US next week. Check ‘em out, they’re pretty good.
